Mould and ULV Fogging FAQ'S
Q: What is mould?
A: Mould is a fungus that includes thousands of different species. It may grow indoors or outdoors and thrives in damp, warm, and humid environments.
Mould can develop by various water infiltrations such as pipe leaks or water back up. It can enter your home through open doorways, windows, and vents. It may also become attached to clothing, shoes, and pets and therefore be carried indoors. When the mould spores in the air land on a surface where moisture is present, mould can then start to grow.
Bathrooms are typical areas prone to mould growth, however, any moist area in the home can be mouldy. Gyprock, ceiling tiles, carpets, furniture, ductwork, roofing, panelling, wallpaper, under sinks, and the areas around plumbing pipes are common areas that can harbor mould if the ideal growing conditions are present.
Q: How does mould spread?
A: Mould is in the air that we breathe every day. Microscopic mould spores are like pollen and float around in the air, and when they land in a location with a food source, moisture and preferably minimal air flow, mould will grow.
Can I stop mould returning after my mould Fogging treatment?
Do everything you can to minimise moisture. Fix any water leaks, control humidity and condensation with dehumidifiers and air-conditioners. Use an exhaust fan and heat lamp in addition to creating sufficient ventilation to reduce humidity and moisture in the bathroom.
Remember NO MOISTURE = NO GROWTH.
Q: What does mould mean for me and my health?
A: Exposure to damp and mouldy environments may cause a variety of health effects. Mould exposure can cause nasal stuffiness, throat irritation, coughing or wheezing, eye or skin irritation, or, in severe cases, fever and difficulty breathing.
People with mould allergies may have more severe reactions. Allergic reactions may happen immediately or develop after a period following exposure. Both growing mould and mould spores may lead to allergic reactions.
Mould or mould spores may cause asthma attacks in people who have asthma and are allergic to mould.
Immune-compromised people and people with chronic lung illnesses, such as obstructive lung disease, may get serious infections in their lungs when they are exposed to mould.
Q: Can I treat mould myself with an off-the-shelf spray?
A: Most non-professional treatments simply cover up odours and possibly kill off surface moulds or impurities temporarily. Unfortunately, they can’t penetrate deeper into walls and other areas where moulds and mildew originate. Furthermore, such sprays or aerosols often contain harsh chemicals or synthetic ingredients that could be harmful when ingested.
Q: What is ULV fogging?
A: Our specialised Ultra Low Volume fogging equipment enables us to use a small amount of product to cover a very large area with an even and consistent layer - dispersed as a super fine mist which penetrates into crevices and small spaces where other methods are unable to.
Q: Why should I have ULV Fogging done?
A: Once mould is visibly growing, the number of spores in the air is much higher than normal. We need to remove these spores to reduce the likelihood that mould will grow again in the same or a different area.
Q: Why do you fog the entire property?
A: Mould spores, by nature, will grow where there is excess moisture. The mould that we see on our walls and ceilings, is present because the right conditions exist. Whilst you see this growth, mould produces invisible spores which spread throughout the living environment.
Q: How long do we need to be away from our home?
A: Following the remediation and fogging we require that you do not return to the property for a period of only one hour. This is the time required for our product to have a consistent coverage of the entire living environment.
Q: How should I prepare for my fogging treatment?
A: You will need put all food into the fridge or pantry. This includes pet food bowls and pet water.

All pets are to be either taken off-site with you or left outside.

Q: How does Forcefield TMTwork?
A: The active ingredients within Forcefield forms a colourless, odourless, positively charged polymer that molecularly bonds to the surface. The strong positive charge disrupts the cell membrane of microorganisms that come in contact with the active surface, thereby causing their cytoplasm and organelles to leak out. It resembles popping a water balloon. Because of this physical kill mechanism, Forcefield does not promote the development of multi-resistant superbugs.
Q: What benefits do Forcefield TM antimicrobial protection products offer?
A: Forcefield protection continuously fights the growth microbes such as germs, mould and COVID-19. Forcefield’s protection also makes the surface easier to clean next time, as the protective coating fills the micro pores of the surface.
Q: Is Forcefield TM environmentally friendly?
A: Forcefield is environmentally responsible as it is a water-based solution. It does not contain any volatile organic compounds and is readily biodegradable.
Q: Can Forcefield TM be used on clothing and accessories?
